1. Eligibility:

   • Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen or meet other specified nationality requirements.
   • Age: Candidates typically need to be between 16.5 to 19.5 years old.
   • Education:
     • For the Army Wing of NDA: A candidate must have passed or be appearing in the 12th class or equivalent from a recognized board.

2. Selection Process:

   • Written Examination: Consists of two papers:

     2. General Ability Test (GAT) (600 marks), which includes sections on English, General Knowledge, Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History, Geography, and Current Affairs.
   • SSB Interview: Candidates who clear the written exam are called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, which assesses the candidate's suitability for a career in the armed forces through psychological tests, group tasks, and a personal interview.

3. Training:

   • Successful candidates join the National Defence Academy in Pune, where they undergo rigorous training for three years. After completing the NDA training, they are sent to their respective service academies (e.g., Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy) for further training before being commissioned as officers.
